The Compact All in One Nettop - Tangent Vita LT

The Tangent Vita LT which is priced at $899 is a small, compact all in one nettop. The unit has an 18.5-inch widescreen built-in monitor.

One thing that makes the Tangent Vita LT stand out is that it has features that are usually missing from other nettops. The Tangent Vita LT has PS/2 ports and a DVD burner, the system also does away with bloat ware that only clog up the memory of your unit. So the Tangent Vita LT is very good for businesses and schools.

However since it has some unusual features for an all in one nettop, it is also priced way above some of the all in one desktop PCs out there. The Tangent Vita LT is certainly attractive. It’s available with either a glossy black or white chassis. All of the system’s electronics are built in behind the monitor, so it doesn’t need a permanently attached base like the Averatec D1133. The Vita LT runs a low powered Intel Atom n270 processor, 2GB of memory, 120GB hard drive, and integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics.

So the question is, is it really worth the extra money? We don’t think so.

ASUS UL80Vt (Vt-A1) – The Lightweight Powerhouse

What do you get if you match Intel’s budget- and endurance-minded Ultra-Low Voltage processor with a powerful Nvidia graphics chip? You get the ASUS’ UL80Vt. The ASUS’ UL80Vt is the newest member of the UL series of ASUS. The unit is priced at $849 14-inch thin-and-light notebook strong performance at a reasonable price.

The most important feature of the UL80Vt is its incorporated integrated graphics; it even has software that tells the computer when to switch it on so that the notebook can last more than a day away from an electric plug.

The UL80Vt is all black, with an attractive brushed metal lid. Inside, the tastefully-appointed deck and screen bezel are made of glossy black plastic, while the bottom is simply matte plastic. This uniformity of color and design gives the system a sleek yet understated look, but tends to pick up fingerprints.

Basically the UL80Vt is the best of both worlds with its price and features.

Is the Maingear Ephex the Ultimate Gaming PC?

Even if you are a hardcore gamer, spending more than $6,000 for a PC is something you really need to think about. However there are a lot of PC’s out there that even costs around $8,000, this are the three-way SLI PC’s. New technologies have allowed PC makers to make such high end gaming units.

Intel’s expensive solid-state hard drives proved too enticing for gaming PC vendors, and by supporting triple channel memory, Intel’s Core i7 chips invited loads of pricey high performance RAM.

So this is where the Maingear Ephex comes in, priced at $8,798, it is the most expensive desktops out there. If you really have your heart out for PC gaming the Maingear Ephex delivers an exceptional entertainment experience.

The Maingear Ephex comes with Intel X58 Motherboard chipset, 3.925GHz Intel Core i7-965 Extreme Edition (overclocked) CPU, 12GB 1,600MHz DDR3 SDRAM Memory, (3) 1GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 280 Graphics, 80GB Intel X-25M solid state hard drive; (2) 1TB 7,200 rpm Western Digital hard drives Hard drives, 20x dual-layer DVD burner with LightScribe; 4x dual-layer Blu-ray burner Optical drive, Gigabit Ethernet Networking, Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 64-bit Operating system.

Is the Asus UL30A-A1 really that Good?

With the current trend of Netbooks and full service laptops, there is little space for CULV ultra thin laptops. Most of these ultra thin laptops will sacrifice a function or two to make the unit as thin as possible. Most of these units remove the optical drive and most of them sacrifice in quality.

It’s relieving to say, therefore, that the 13-inch Asus UL30A-A1 is a thin-and-light that we’d gladly carry around in our bag for a good long time to come. The Asus UL30A-A1 has a good frame and very good new Core 2 Duo CULV processor; it even has a good battery life. So it is the closest to a complete package for a sub-$1000 laptop that doesn’t resort to an Atom processor.

The Asus UL30A-A1 comes with 1.3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 Processor, 4GB, 1066MHz DDR3 Memory, 500GB 5,400rpm Hard drive Mobile, Intel GM45 Express Chipset, Intel GMA 4500MHD Graphics ,Windows Vista Premium Operating system.

A Closer Look at the Lenovo C300

If we were to make believe that the Nettop world is totally separate from the desktop market, then we might actually like the $549 Lenovo C300. It has a large 20-inch wide-screen display and runs a little faster due to a slightly faster Intel Atom CPU.

Now since we live in a real world then we cannot recommend the Lenovo C300. The only advantage of the Lenovo C300 is its large 20 inch display but performance wise there are better netbooks out there that can do the same performance at a lower price.

The Lenovo C300 comes with 1.6GHz Intel Atom N330 CPU, 4GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM Memory ,12MB (integrated) ATI Mobility Radeon 4530 integrated graphics chip Graphics, 640GB, 7,200rpm Hard drives, dual-layer DVD burner Optical drive, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11g wireless Networking, 20-inches Display size, Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 (32-bit) Operating system.
